Rare Native American Pottery
Are you someone that values art or likes to collect things? Are you someone that likes to make art yourself? If so, then you should consider checking out Native American pottery. This type of pottery can either be a replica or it can be something that is very old and worth a lot of money. Either way, it will be incredibly beautiful, and you will know what it is by the large patterns that are decorating it. There are some things that you need to keep in mind as you are checking it out though.
You want to make sure that the Native American pottery is authentic. If you are spending a lot of money on vases, for example, then it doesn’t make much sense to be doing it for something that is not real. You might have a beautiful Italian piece or some ancient stoneware, but you want to make sure you know exactly what you are getting. There are several things that you can keep in mind when you purchase it. You might think about getting something with the Zuni style. These are usually nearly $2000, but they are genuine.

Another type of Native American pottery that you will find to be very popular would be the Agnes wood Navajo type. These beautiful clay pots are completely handmade, and that just adds to the over character. They look very cool in the home, and are a great gift for the person that likes to collect art. Cups and vases often come in sets together and you can usually get a nice Navajo Indian Mesa Verde Pueblo style as well. Sometimes, they will be signed, but remember, that does not guarantee that they are completely authentic.
A lot of people are now making pottery pieces that are designed to look like they were crafted by Native Americans, but that doesn’t mean that they should be worth a lot of money. You should never pay more than $100 for a piece that is designed to be a replica unless you understand that it is not authentic and love the design. Acoma and Carole Clark like to make these, as does Adamson. There are plenty of authentic Native American pottery pieces for sale for very cheap, so you should never get desperate. At the end of the day, if you do not love the Native American pottery, should you really get it? If you are a collector, that is one thing, but if you don’t then you should stick to things that really catch your eye. It does not matter if art critics do not like it either. What is important is that you are finding your own tastes in art.
